More than 1,800 Mississippi attorneys volunteer their time and expertise to participate in the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project. The project is a joint venture between The Mississippi Bar and the six Legal Services Programs in our state. More than 5,000 low income citizens are assisted by the Project each year.
Cases handled by the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project include: Civil cases only - e.g.: divorce, birth certificate corrections, Chapter 7 bankruptcies, etc.
*All Legal Services Corporation restrictions apply. Cases are primarily referred through the two Legal Services throughout the state. You must meet federal income eligibility guidelines based on gross income per household and case type priorities.
