The Intellectual Property Section was organized in September 2000 in order to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among Mississippi lawyers engaged in the practice of intellectual property law. Members' interests include copyright, patent, and trademark law, as well as the less traditional areas of internet law, computer related issues, and information technology law in general. The section has conducted and will continue to conduct CLE seminars to assist its members in their understanding of these areas of practice.

Privacy, Publicity and Intellectual Property Issues Underlying The Help Controversy
The Mississippi Bar Intellectual Property Section presented on Thursday, September 29, 2011, a one-hour CLE seminar, entitled "Privacy, Publicity and Intellectual Property Issues Underlying The Help Controversy." The seminar featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on complex issues concerning literary works in general, and the manifestation of those issues in The Help specifically. The panel was comprised of those who are intimately familiar with high profile litigation on literary issues, including Edward Sanders, Fred Banks, Jr., Luther Munford and Robert Gregg Mayer. The following are pictures from the event.
