ANNUAL DINNER MEETING & FELLOWS INDUCTION CEREMONY

Approximately 225 attorneys and their guests attended the Mississippi Bar Foundation’s 2011 Annual Dinner Meeting on Thursday, April 14 at the Old Capitol Inn. Members of the Foundation gathered to honor and recognize lawyers who have made outstanding contributions to the public and profession.
Following the reception and dinner, President John M. McCullouch of Ridgeland presided over the annual meeting. McCullouch presented the President’s Report mentioning the induction of new Fellows, the Memorial Service for deceased Fellows, and highlights of FY 2010-2011.
The Mississippi Bar Foundation recognized outgoing members of the Board of Trustees -
John H. Daniels, III, Greenville; Stephen W. Rosenblatt, Jackson; Deborah J. Gambrell, Hattiesburg; and Cynthia H. Speetjens, Madison
Stephanie R. Jones of Jackson received the 2011 Law-Related Public Education Award for her many years of service to the Statewide Mock Trial Competition. The Law-Related Public Education Award is presented to a lawyer or law firm or bar organization for excellence in enhancing the public’s understanding of the law and the legal system.
William M. Champion of Oxford posthumously received the Foundation’s 2011 Professionalism Awards, the Foundation’s highest honor presented to an attorney for excellence in enhancing the public’s understanding of the law and the legal system and who exemplifies the best characteristics of the profession.
