Much of the work of the Bar is accomplished through Bar committees. As a member of the Mississippi Bar, you're encouraged to get involved by working with other lawyers throughout the state on a Bar committee. You'll not only meet other lawyers, but you'll be making a significant contribution to the profession and the community. If you're committed to serving the legal community beyond the office, the Bar's committees may be just the opportunity you're looking for. These groups operate to oversee basic Bar programs and services, as well as address special concerns. If you are interested in getting involved take a moment to complete and submit a committee preference form. Bar committees are created by the Board of Commissioners and appointments are made by the President. Since many committees have only a limited number of positions open each year due to staggered terms the number of vacancies is limited.
