The Committee on Women in the Profession's primary objectives
are: To assess the current status of women in the legal profession
and to identify career paths of women attorneys and their goals; to
identify barriers that prevent women attorneys from full
participation in the work, the responsibilities and the rewards of
the profession; to assess quality of life issues in the profession
which affect both male and female attorneys; to identify unique
problems encountered by women attorneys in pursuing their
professional careers and to make recommendations to the Board of
Commissioners regarding women in the profession

20th Annual Evelyn Gandy Lecture Series: Defining Your
Legacy-
February 22 & 23
The Mississippi Bar's Women in the Profession Committee is proud
to host the 20th Annual Evelyn Gandy Lecture Series at King Edward
Hotel in Jackson on February 22-23, 2013. This premier CLE for
women lawyers was named for the late Lt. Gov. Evelyn Gandy, whose
record for public service has never been surpassed. Her stellar
career was capped with her being elected as the first female
lieutenant governor in Mississippi's history. This event highlights
Governor Gandy's passion for public service and encourages all
lawyers to pursue such goals in their careers. The Evelyn Gandy
Lecture Series' registration fee of $175 includes the cocktail
reception, full breakfast, and 6 hours of CLE credit including 1
hour of Professionalism. Also, please consider sponsoring a law
student's attendance at the conference. Full scholarships are
$275/student and include conference registration, housing and food.
