The committees of the Young Lawyers Division are
responsible for the planning and implementation of many of its

Bar Admission Ceremony - This committee's
primary responsibility will be to contact Judges and Deans for
their participation in the Fall and Spring ceremonies, as well as
attend each ceremony.
Child Advocacy - This committee will focus on
legal issues concerning children.
Communications - This committee will focus on
how to get young lawyers involved in YLD and the legal
Disaster Legal Assistance - This committee
will plan an instructional program for the YLD County Coordinators
in case of a natural disaster and continue to update the Disaster
Legal Assistance manual.
Diversity in the Law - This committee will
encourage minority members to participate in Young Lawyer Division
activities and promote minority involvement in the legal
Mock Trial - This committee will focus on
judge recruitment and directing of each Regional location and
Prison Dogs - This committee will assist in
starting Prison Dogs programs across the state. Prison Dogs is a
program where offenders train dogs for service work and then the
dogs are placed with suitable families or persons with
Seminars - This committee will plan and
implement a series of live CLE teleconferences and seminars
throughout the year, including the Bridge the Gap Seminar.
Solo and Small Firm Practitioners - This
committee will focus on issues facing solo and small firm
