The 26th Annual National High School Mock Trial Championship was held in Atlanta, Georgia, May 6 -10, 2009. High school students from 42 states, U.S. territories, and South Korea participated in this prestigious two-day national competition. Mississippi was represented by its state champion, Sacred Heart Catholic High School from Hattiesburg. Members of the Mississippi team included Megan Fink, Ashli Fitzpatrick, Ann Marie Mercier, Elizabeth Rust, Lindsay Thomas, Margaret Thomas, and Mary Beth Wolverton. The Mississippi team was coached by teacher Paul Van Zandt and attorneys Don Hinton, David Miller and Austin Stewart. Congratulations to Sacred Heart for its outstanding achievement! National Mock Trial Practicum The National High School Mock Trial Championship Board in partnership with Great River Technologies presents the NATIONAL MOCK TRIAL PRACTICUM WEBSITE. This valuable tool enhances the mock trial experience for students, teachers, and coaches. This dynamic website includes interactive exercises that allow students to test their knowledge of the trial process. It demonstrates opening statements, closing arguments, direct examinations, cross examinations, and much more.
