FELLOWS INDUCTION CEREMONY

Approximately 190 attorneys and their guests attended the Mississippi Bar Foundation's 2013 Annual Dinner Meeting on Thursday, April 25 at the Old Capitol Inn. Members of the Foundation gathered to honor and recognize lawyers who have made outstanding contributions to the public and profession. The Foundation also celebrated its Fiftieth Anniversary.
Following the reception and dinner, President Ronald L. Roberts of Meridian presided over the annual meeting. Roberts presented the President's Report mentioning the induction of new Fellows, the Memorial Service for deceased Fellows, and highlights of FY 2012-2013.
Michael S. Carr of Cleveland received the 2013 Law-Related Public Education Award for his many years of service to the Statewide Mock Trial Competition. The Law-Related Public Education Award is presented to a lawyer or law firm or bar organization for excellence in enhancing the public's understanding of the law and the legal system.
John G. Corlew of Jackson received the Foundation's 2013 Professionalism Awards, the Foundation's highest honor presented to an attorney for excellence in enhancing the public's understanding of the law and the legal system and who exemplifies the best characteristics of the profession.
