The Mississippi Bar Section of Natural Resources, Environment and Energy Law (SONREEL) presents “Ethics and Confidentiality for Lawyers and Nonlawyers: Where Does the Gray Line Begin?” This luncheon seminar program will provide one (1) hour Ethics CLE Credit for participants in legal practice and may be allowed as continuing education for other licensed professionals. Donna J. Hodges, with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, will present a program focused on the obligations of both the lawyer and the nonlawyer consultant in maintaining certain professional standards throughout any joint project, including aspects of communication and collaboration. The program will include discussion regarding the ethical standards in varying professions, the sensitivity surrounding nondisclosure of confidential client information, pressure from third party entities working in the best interest of the public and how to address such issues.
