Six Hours of Free On-Demand CLE Now Available
The Mississippi Bar has released a new package of on-demand CLE available at no charge to all members. This free package includes 6 sessions totaling 6 hours of CLE credit, including 1.5 hours of Ethics/Professionalism. These CLE sessions will be available until September 1, 2023. You will receive links to each CLE via email after you register HERE. Topics include:

  • “Civil Rules and Caselaw Update” by Justice T. Kenneth Griffis
  • “Chancery Court Tips and Updates” by Judge Rodney Faver, Judge Kiley Kirk, and Judge Joseph Studdard

Workers’ Compensation Section CLE – February 10
Join The Mississippi Bar Workers’ Compensation Law Section for “The New Medical Fee Schedule; Rebuttable? Found Dead Presumption; Inadequacy of Death Benefits” CLE by Judge Linda Thompson of the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission and Professor John Robin Bradley of the University of Mississippi School of Law on February 10 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Holcomb Group in Oxford. The Young Lawyers Division is hosting a series of virtual CLEs providing education and best practices on a variety of topics for solo practitioners across the state. Join the YLD for the next session, "Tips for Cases Involving the Department of Human Services," presented by Julianne Bailey & Constance Morrow on February 17, on Zoom from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. One hour of CLE credit will be offered at no cost to all members of YLD and The Mississippi Bar. Appellate Practice Section Legal Writing Lunch-and-Learn with Judge Ozerden – March 7

Join The Mississippi Bar Appellate Practice Section on March 7, 2023 from 12:00p.m.- 1:00p.m. at Salute in Gulfport, MS for a legal writing workshop with United Stated District Court Judge Sul Ozerden.  Judge Ozerden will speak on (1) the difference between writing for the trial and appellate courts and tips for writing to both and (2) how to build and protect your appellate record at the district court.  Remote participation will also be available via Zoom for individuals who cannot attend in-person.
