Free CLE (Ethics Hour):
Ethical Considerations for Using Technology in Your Law Practice - May 14 at 1:00 pm by Adam Kilgore and Missye Scott, MB Office of General Counsel
The situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic has fully highlighted the many ways in which technology is a fundamental part of the modern law practice.  Whether you are using email to communicate with your clients and opposing counsel or participating in a mediation through Zoom, it is critically important that you ensure your use of technology is consistent with your ethical obligations. These obligations exist whether you are working remotely or from your office. Join the Bar's General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel to learn about ways to ensure your ethical compliance and protect the interests of your clients and your practice. Click here to register for this one-hour CLE. Spots for live participation are limited.

Free CLE: Understanding and Dealing with Metadata in Your Legal Documents - June 4 at 12:00 pm by Adriana Linares of LawTech Partners - Offered by the Bar's Technology Committee and the Capital Area Bar Association
Metadata is electronically stored information that generally is not visible from the face of a document that has been printed out, or as first seen on a computer screen. Microsoft Word is particularly vulnerable to exposing such information which often is useless but at other times, can be quite significant and perhaps even privileged. This session highlights potential pitfalls of sharing documents and emails in their electronic form as well as discussing tools and techniques for avoiding issues when sharing documents and emails. Click here to register for this one-hour CLE. Spots for live participation are limited.

On-Demand CLEs:
These popular webinars have been made into on-demand CLEs available to our Members.  To access the free on-demand CLEs, log in through your Member Login on the Bar's home page. Free CLE: Zoom Training for Lawyers and Using It Securely
As lawyers moved to working remotely, they flocked in droves to Zoom for video conferencing. As they quickly learned, it was easy to use – and their clients loved it too. Zoom is rich in features, but beware – in order to use Zoom ethically and competently – you need to become educated about using Zoom securely. That requires training. Many of the stories you’ve heard bemoaning Zoom’s supposed insecurity were a result of user error.  Moreover, Zoom has already made great strides in enhancing its security and is effective, provided the host of the Zoom conference knows his/her way around the product. This one-hour CLE is designed to alert you to the many ways you can use Zoom in the practice of law – with an eye to making sure that your usage of Zoom is secure and ethical.

Free CLE (Ethics Hour): Lawyer Well-Being: We Each Have a Story
Brian Cuban is an attorney, best-selling author, and internationally recognized speaker who offers a unique and poignant perspective as an attorney who has suffered from addiction and other mental health issues. This one-hour CLE focuses on the concepts of compassionate community and maintaining your well-being.

Free CLE: How to Work Efficiently from Home: Business Continuity for Law Offices in the Face of Coronavirus
As the COVID-19 pandemic has illustrated, the ability to operate a law practice without everyone being together in an office can be critically important.  Going forward, practice mobility and efficient remote access are likely to be keys for an effective disaster avoidance strategy.  This two-hour CLE provides recommendations for improving your ability to practice law, communicate, and take care of your clients' needs from anywhere.  Some of the topics covered include building an electronic filing system and reducing paper; mobile hardware; mobile communications; billing and accounting remotely; acquiring a centralized, shareable client database; remote document signatures; cyber-security and protecting client data; general cloud concepts; and building out your home workspace.
