The Board of Commissioners established the Lawyer Citizenship Award to recognize outstanding lawyers and judges who have given back through service to communities. Multiple Lawyer Citizenship Awards will be presented to members of the Bar who have served their communities in the areas such as: Assisting groups or individuals on a volunteer basis in a non-legal capacity; Educating the public or individuals or students about legal matters; Providing pro bono legal services in a matter of a significant nature or in a significant numbers of cases; Providing pro bono legal services in a way that significantly changed the life of one person or group and aiding the administration of justice. Nominations are now being accepted for the Lawyer Citizenship Award. Deadline is May 15, 2013.
