Statewide Mock Trial Competition Results

Sacred Heart Catholic School Earns Statewide High School Mock Trial Championship Title
Sacred Heart Catholic School (Team 1), coached by Richard Filce, Don Hinton, Leslyn Tamberg, and Jennifer Hetrick, won the Championship Round of the Mississippi High School Mock Trial Competition. The statewide competition was held on Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25. Sacred Heart will represent Mississippi in the National High School Mock Trial Competition in Little Rock, AR, on May 18-20. Oxford High School earned the second-place trophy gavel, coached by John Mistilis and Christine Tatum. The following schools earned the remainder of the top six positions: Madison Central, third place coached by Jimmy Ainsworth, Judge Staci O’Neal and Rogen Chhabra; St. Andrews Episcopal School, fourth place coached by James Foley and Vicki Lowery; Vancleave High School, fifth place coached by Laura Barnes and Katina Demoran; and Sacred Heart Catholic School (Team 2), sixth place. A special thank you to all of the attorney coaches and judges who volunteered their valuable time to help with this Young Lawyers Division law-related education program in its 40th year.
