The Gaming Law Section of The Mississippi Bar is hosting a 2 hour CLE program focusing on the legal aspects of sports wagering. As one of only eight states in the US offering legal sports book operations and the only state in the southeastern region of the US, Mississippi is uniquely positioned. This unique positioning will be explored by regulators and operators in this 2 hour CLE as they discuss the various legal and operational challenges with beginning a new wagering amenity in a state with no history of prior legal operations, with a special emphasis on start-up issues, operational issues and legal issues, including player disputes, licensing and various models used by Mississippi casinos to “get in the game.” After the 2 hour CLE, there will be a cocktail hour, leaving plenty of time for attendees to place their March Madness wagers.
