MISSISSIPPI COLLEGESCHOOL OF LAWLAW SCHOOL NEWSA | MC Law has expanded its list of3+3 partnerships with the addition oftwo Mississippi universities. Qualifiedstudents at these universities now havean accelerated pathway which allowsthem to to enter MC's Juris Doctorateprogram before fully completing theirbachelor's degree, shortening the totallength of undergraduate studies pluslaw school by one full year. A partnershipwith Mississippi University for Womenwas finalized in December of 2024on the campus of MC Law in Jacksonwith MC President Dr. Blake Thompson,MC Law Dean John Anderson, andMUW President Nora R. Miller present.The partnership with the University ofSouthern Mississippi was finalized inJanuary of 2025 in Hattiesburg with MCPresident Dr. Blake Thompson, DeanJohn Anderson, and USM President Dr.Joseph S. The breakfastwas attended by Speaker of the HouseJason White, an alumnus of MC Law;Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann; members of the Mississippi Legislature;and members of the Supreme Court ofMississippi.C | The Alumni Board recently hosted aChristmas gathering at the home of MCLaw Dean John Anderson. This eventwas made possible through supportfrom alumni and friends in collaboration with the MC Law AdvancementDepartment. During the party, donations of Christmas gifts were collected for an Angel Tree partnership withSouthern Christian Services for Childrenand Youth.D | In January, MC Law hosted Coffeewith the Court, an informative gatheringof area judges, alumni, and students.The program included a coffee social,a judicial panel, a law clerk panel, andan introduction of two newly-sworn-inCourt of Appeals judges, the HonorableAmy St. P%u00e9 and the Honorable JohnWeddle.A AB CD D58 SPRING 2025
