Government Law Section CLE “Freedom of Speech and Expression: Navigating Boundaries of the First Amendment” – January 9
Join The Mississippi Bar Government Law Section for a Virtual CLE Seminar “Freedom of Speech and Expression: Navigating Boundaries of the First Amendment” on Thursday, January 9 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Bethany Johnson of the Office of the Mississippi Attorney General, Nick Norris of Watson & Norris PLLC, and Paul Watkins of Mayo Mallette, PLLC, will be presenting. Technology Seminar - 6 Hours Live CLE in Jackson – January 14

This seminar, presented by the Law Practice Management and Technology Committee, will be held January 14, 2025, at The Bar Center in Jackson, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Six hours of in person CLE credit will be offered for $300 (includes lunch). Bridge the Gap: Rule 3 New Lawyer Program in Gulfport – January 24
The Young Lawyers Division of The Mississippi Bar is sponsoring the “Bridge the Gap: New Lawyer Program” Part 1, January 24 from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport. The Mississippi Commission on Continuing Legal Education requires each newly-licensed lawyer to complete a new lawyer program comprised of a total of 6 hours of basic skills and 6 hours of ethics/professionalism within two years of admission. This program by Young Lawyers for Young Lawyers is modestly priced at $200 for 6 hours of CLE and will feature 3 hours of basic skills and 3 hours of ethics/professionalism. All attorneys are welcome to attend these CLEs, regardless of whether they are required to complete a new lawyer program. To register, log in through the ATTORNEY LOGIN on the Bar's homepage.
Trust Account School – January 30
The Trust Account School presented by The Mississippi Bar's Office of General Counsel will be held January 30, 2025, from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. at The Bar Center in Jackson. Attorneys will learn how to prevent trust accounting errors in this 4-hour course. The seminar will be a combination of lecture and hands-on training in recordkeeping and reconciliation. Evelyn Gandy Lecture Series - February 21-22
The Mississippi Bar Women in the Profession Section is proud to host the 32nd Annual Evelyn Gandy Lecture Series February 21-22, 2025, at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama. This premier CLE for women lawyers was named for the late Lt. Gov. Evelyn Gandy, whose passion for public service survives through this Lecture Series. Registration will be available soon.
